National Pizza Day: What You Knead to Know

How many pizza puns can you count?

Do you enjoy extra pepperoni on your pizza, or do you secretly crave pineapple?

It’s National Pizza Day, which means it would be rude not to make a fuss about the ultimate comfort food fit for all occasions. First date? Share a slice. Long day at work? Pick up the phone. Won the lottery? Pizza’s on you!

There’s never a bad time for pizza, but for true pizza mind, making sure that you have allergens in check could make all the difference. Dairy and gluten are some of the most common intolerances pizza-eaters must contend with, not to mention the mile-long list of possible toppings.

So how do you make sure your pizza (or any food or drink for that matter) is all gouda? You track the ingredients, and if there are any of the 14 major food allergens present, you make sure they are visibly displayed so that people who may come into contact with that pizza are aware.

It’s all about visibility – people can’t avoid allergens if they don’t know they are present. When a new pizza is developed, it’s important to have a record of the ingredients. It’s even better to make sure those records are checked for accuracy.

Spreadsheets may have been the best process once, but there’s a better way to secure your food and drink offering. A digital solution can provide accuracy and visibility both in the office and for consumers.

ARCUS® Product Information Management (PIM) automates the collection of essential product information directly from your suppliers. If you’re looking for a reliable supplier for your ingredients, using ARCUS®  PIM will help ensure that data is accurate.

We also integrate with Fourth Recipe Management for an added layer of security and ease.
